"Fear Street Part 1: 1994" is a horror film that serves as the first installment in the "Fear Street" trilogy, based on the book series by R.L. Stine. Directed by Leigh Janiak, the film was released on Netflix in 2021.

The story is set in the fictional town of Shadyside, which has a history of mysterious and brutal killings. The film follows a group of teenagers, including Deena Johnson (played by Kiana Madeira) and her younger brother Josh (played by Benjamin Flores Jr.), as they uncover the dark secrets of their town.

When a series of supernatural events and murders occur, Deena and her friends suspect that the incidents are connected to the legend of Sarah Fier, a woman who was accused of being a witch and cursing the town centuries ago. They learn about the "Shadyside Killers," a string of killers who have plagued the town over the years, seemingly possessed by Sarah Fier's spirit.

As the group delves deeper into the mystery, they discover a connection between their own lives and the events from the past. They find an old book containing information about the witch's curse, which is said to be the cause of Shadyside's misfortunes.

With the help of the book, Deena and her friends attempt to break the curse and put an end to the killings. They realize that they must find the witch's hand, which was severed from her body before she was executed. By reuniting the hand with the rest of Sarah Fier's body, they hope to break the curse and stop the cycle of violence.

"Fear Street Part 1: 1994" combines elements of slasher horror and supernatural mystery, paying homage to various 90s horror films. The film sets up the larger narrative arc of the trilogy, which explores different time periods in Shadyside's history and how they are connected to the present day.
